The Cisco Route Processor Module (RPM) XF is a seamless integrated IP Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) services gateway for the Cisco Advanced ATM Multiservice Portfolio (AAMP). Powered by the innovative adaptive processing of Cisco Parallel Express Forwarding (PXF) for highest service performance, these backcards are used with industry-leading Cisco IOS Software.The Cisco MGX-RPM-XF-512 has an adaptive network-processing technology based on the patented Cisco PXF architecture. The PXF network processor provides hardware-based forwarding and ease of programmability for flexible service delivery. The Cisco MGX Route Processor Module XF is built to provide high-performance edge services, high scalability, and reliability. It creates new and differentiated current services for ATM-based networks, such as voice over IP (VoIP) and IP-enabled Layer 2 service. It also provides a MPLS control plane for emerging services and network architectures.
